Default More victims of the Roadrunner!!

Took a vacation day today to get some fishing in before the front. Had a good day on the lake, it started slow with the blue and chartruese tube I have been catching them on. So since it was cloudy I changed to a silver metal flake tube with a pearl tail on the chartruese Roadrunner. That was what they wanted. I injected some pink nibbles with the bait pump (thanks Randy for this great invention), the pink bleeding through made this neutral looking tube look like a rosie red minnow on a chartruese Roadrunner. The crappie loved it. I was about the only one catching crappie to amount to anything, and everyone was asking what I was catching them on. I really like fishing with Roadrunners. These black crappie really put up a fight. Caught a limit of 15, they weighed 17 lbs. 2 oz.

Way to go! Nothing beats taking a day off. Just being out there realizing what you're missing back at work. I really need to get down there and try them black crappie. I sure did enjoy casting those roadrunners and jigs at them crappie, and I haven't caught any on that technique since then. I guess my confidence in it isn't high enough, yet. Maybe one more trip with you will get me going. Oh yea, I heard something about Blakemore Roadrunner sponsering you on the tour!!!

Hey Stump, you keep that up you're gonna make me wanna start throwing some of those horsehead jigs. Guess I can take a few extra Advil from all that casting, lol. LOOK'IN REALLY GOOD BROTHER!!!

P.S. You can save them vacation days and call in sick. After all, you do have a fever -- a real crap-pie fever.

Hey, L.A.Stumpjumper, were you by any chance fishing in Felsenthal? I have read a post or two about Grand Marais and other spots up there.
Proud to be an AMERICAN fisherman!

No bryophyte these fish came out of Cane Creek lake. I have been seeing reports of good crappie fishing at Felsenthal but haven't made it down there yet. If you get to go let me know how you do.

No Slipcork I haven't tried that yet but I probably will now that I know about it. I really like the roadrunner for cast and retreive, but I bet it is good for trolling or like you said under a slipcork. Moving it a little or letting the wave action move it. Will try that, thanks for the idea.

Thanks shadow, they have been cooperating lately, with the cooler weather and all. Going tommorow and hope to get into some good ones. Are you coming to Crappie Camp next weekend.
