Partner has a new boat the deck maybe be 1 or 2 inches below the rail, saturaday he boats a pretty slad znd it landed on the deck.I was looking at it laying there and all at once it did a swan dive back into the lake.He turned and looked at and said did you see that sh.. I said yeah I did,not long he boats another and it too landed on the deck and does the swan dive trick.I said I told you they would flop off the decks in this boat and we would haveta step on them to keep them from flopping back in.At the time its raining so hard we barely could hear each other talking.Rain let up alittle he turned around and ask did you say you where going to get another fishing partner I said I did.Why would you to do that b/c I could hear what you were thinking when your fishs flopped back in.I solved my problem from them flopping back in when it was raining like pouring p out of a boot. How I catch them between my knees and hold them until thry stop flopping around.Hummm he said I was thinking about buying a net but I guess kneein them would be better then looking like a sissssy sticking net under them......

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.
Now that will reach out and touch em. Nice Rig there Gomer.

Looks like Gomer is going to dip them out of other people's live wells.:D
Bigger fish equals bigger risk of losing them on the swing from their watery home to the live box. I do think it depends on how fish are biting. If the bite is slow they will barely take the bait making for some bad hook sets but on the other hand if they are inhaling it you don't seem to loose many.
Course I suppose if they are of the true slab category they could always chew their way to freedom out of the bottom of the net. The size crappie I catch I don't have that problem though, most usually. Some may make fun of such a long net gomer is sporting but when your trying to dip a fish with a 3' net at the end of a 10' pole it's a struggle to say t
he least and the long net makes sense.
I use an 8' telescopic net. I learned my lesson on trying to swing fish into the boat with a long pole.
Always good to have a partner in the vessel with you for landing of the large ones. Unless of course your partner isn't of your same political views, can't operate the net, bums baits all day or has gas!
Where is a right way and wrong way to left anything without hurting or loseing anything.
I have lefted a may 4 and 5 lb bass on a 5 1/2 ft ulta light rod with a 1/32 jig with no problems, its risky on the rod of breaking if done wrong.I have no problem with people useing nets or 20 ft poles thats their way of enjoyment. To me a long pole is made for fishing road ditches and a net waste fishing time.I figure I can get extra fishing time by not having to get the net net the fish take fish out of net then sometimes take a few mins to get hook out of net.99% of my fishing is done with a 5 1/2 rod its easier and faster for me to left or lip as net.I like the long pole have lefted a may of 4 and 5 lb bass with it too it will break if done wrong...
Gosh Gomer all I can say is man with a long pole and that net you got your hands full a skeeter get on the end of your nose it be full of blood before you got the fish in.
