I like this thread, and really want to respond to it, but I can't, see never lost a fish, luck to y'all

I widen the gap on mine too. Usually do it by gettin hung!

The other day a Big Crappie Flipper'd Me Off before he Spit the Hook Out and was gone forever

Told my partner today we need to buy us a long handle dip net...why....so can stick it out to other boats and beg for some fish.

I used to use a net until the day I met my friend, Habib......
So, I'm cruising across Lake X in search of a couple more 8" slabs to finish off my limit. Suddenly, I see a suspicious looking character wearing a purple turban and dragging a couple of tangled drift socks, so I figure I better go investigate. I shut her down about 15 or 20 yards away from him so he would not get suspicious. Then I begin jigging around his boat as I strike up a conversation with the suspected terrorist. But he seems to be friendly, and as we are talking, I get a big ole THAWWUUUMPPP!!! on one of my jig poles. Before I even get him to the surface, Habib already has his 25' extension net under my fish and has it halfway back to HIS boat, fillet knife in hand!! Well, I just give the ole Cherrywood a flip and that slab comes out of the net and lands safely in the floor of my boat.....
So that was the day I met my new friend Habib, and I haven't used a net since!
