Thread: Conway Creeks

IMHO... it's going to be tuffer in those creeks this year. Conway as a whole is on a downward spiral. I fish this lake regularly and just went through my tuffist summer of fishing ever. In summers past before this year I could catch several limits in a half day of fishing this year its taken me all day to catch 10-20 fish to many times. Oddly enuff the bite has not been outstanding since the Oil Spill. It's also weird that since the Oil Spill I have seen some of the worst fishing ever on Conway. Just saying... and there are others on here who would agree. For example by this time the last few years the creeks were on fire. Not so this year. I think the creeks will produce but it's going to be a down year unlike the banner year we had last year. I don't think the pad and alligator grass kill off in the creek channels helps. The fish and fisherman love that stuff. I understand a need to control the alligator grass but it is also killing way to many lilly pads in the creek channels. The pad and grass kill off in the Gold and Caney creek channels has or will hurt the fishing in my Opinion. With this said I have faith that Conway will return to the crappie fishing we know and love... and it will not take long to do it.

With all these creeks on fire, I'm suspecting exxon is just burning off the residue to hide evidence.
