    Default Trolling motor tray

Anyone ever put a trolling motor tray in yourself if so where did you get your tray and how hard was it? I have a 04 PT185 tracker I want to put one in.

What kind of trolling motor are you using? If you have a Terrova or Powerdrive, I would suggest using a mka47 bracket which allows the motor to be slid back flush with the edge of the boat so it will not be in the way of the winch on your trailer. As far as fasteners for the bracket/motor, my number one choice is going to be a stainless bolt with a washer and nylon insert lock nut on the bottom. If there is no access to the bottom, a rivnut would be my next choice. If that is not doable, some sort of toggle bolt will probably work out ok. I'm sure others that have done more of this than I will weigh in and offer some good suggestions.

Always do the work your self until you get to the point you need to take the parts to a dealer in a ziploc bag. It's the manly thing to do

Let us know which trolling motor you will be using.

Good luck with the project and let us know how it turns out.

No you were not off that is what I am wanting to do. But I was wanting know if anyone on here has done it and if so where did you buy your tray. I can't understand why a piece of molded plastic cost $ 140.00 I'll be the 1st To admit I hate to spend that much money on something so simple.

The MKA-47 is machined aluminum. Mine came from a forum sponsor shut-up-and-fish. You have the price pretty well nailed down. If you have existing holes already in the boat, the mount comes pre-drilled with several holes that will probably match up. You can drill extra holes if needed, just make sure they are not in the way when the mount slides. I had some holes in the boat that I wanted to use that were not covered by the mount so I built a little adapter out of some 1/4 flat aluminum. Here is the link to the install. It will be on the bottom of the first page.http://www.crappie.com/crappie/arkan...ng-thread.html

Go over to BassboatCentral and do a search. Should find plenty of info. Sign up over there where you can ask questions. They have lots of good info on just about any How To you can think of on boats. Have a complete board just on Tin Boats.

That's strike two. One more and I'm out. Quit throwing those curves and maybe I'll hit one out of the park.
