RCC, I am not a man that will back down from a challenge! I think that there is a possibility to not only shut down duck season and crappie fishing, but maybe we could alter migration patterns and timing of the spawn for crappie. If you think that is out of reach, think again. This is the first year in 10-15 years that I have tried to fish DURING the spawn and not spend 8 weeks chasing turkeys. This year alone I have managed to postpone the spawn (the way it's looking the spawn will now be sometime in June probably while I'm in Florida on business for a week) and I have also managed to practically shutdown turkey season to the point that very few turkeys are gobbling and most that have been killed have been ambushed! Everyone seems to be mad about the turkey season, but with all the turkeys I saved, there will be some running around next year dragging barge ropes as beards! As far as the crappie go, I think all will be good and in a year or 2 when I quit spring fishing again to resume turkey hunting, you folks will sink your boats with fish.

And just think, you all will have a guy like me to thank for all of that!!

I wouldn't call myself an ANTI-PRO, more of a NO-PRO. I do wonder if we no-pros got us some of them cool look alike matching sponsor shirts like CrappiePro has on would we be more of a club. The only problem might be finding somebody to sponsor us no-pros. Any suggestions for sponsors. Maybe we could just pictures of ourselves on our shirts just floating around in the middle of the lake.

I've had this look before. It occurs from time to time when I get that "pain" out in the middle of the lake. Up go the sunglasses on the bill of my cap as I visually search for the nearest "facility" or secluded clump of trees as I streak toward the bank wide open. (if a 25hp can streak)

Well, I awake this morning, humbled. I sort of thought as I went to bed "Boy, I showed those ole boys what a REAL Loser is!!".........

But clearly, there are many types of anti-pros, amateur pros, experienced pros, and pros with massive heaping quantities of expertise in pro-LOSER-dom floating about on Arkansas' waters. I am going to have to eat some humble pie. It appears that I can either:

    A) Throw out all those packages of huge filets from last year when I was clearly NOT a LOSER

ii) Eat them alone and never mention my fervent hope that this is the year that is the aberration, and not last year.....

    or

    3) Keep going this year in hopes that somehow things magically pick up while others are in Florida on business trips (hahaha. NO ONE goes to Florida on strictly business. I laugh at you guys)....

As to that look, I could not master it. I will not even try.......... First, my arms are not long enough (I have very short arms) to take my self picture in such a pose. Second, I have no friends that would be able to snap such a picture for me, without the camera shaking badly from their laughter. Third, most of the cameras that we own, or camera phones either, do not have a wide angle lens. In order to get my whole self in such a picture, the picture taker (or my arms) would have to be 4 boat lengths ahead of my fine self. Not likely.

As to the 'woman' beating me, it bothers me some, I admit. However, this is not an ordinary woman. She is the VERY LATE little sister of my best friend, and much younger than we are. She teaches P.E. She can mud wrestle most bears and has a winning percentage. I am not sure, and have no real knowledge, but I believe she knows ju-jitsu just by looking at her icy stares. Plus, she just married a guy that knows how to fish, and I mean does he ever. And he, too, is bigger than I am.

And I too am beginning to wonder where we might get some cool T shirts (pockets only, please, I have glasses to store) in hot colors with our pitchers on 'em, and LOSER all spelt out and stuff. I will think on that one too.

    Welcome to the ranks!

Maneuver your boat out to the middle of the lake and joint the rest of us LOSERs as we give the appearance of sitting on an underwater gold mine.

Everyone will be there except RCC, who was last sean streaking for shore wide open... This could be interpreted a variety of ways, which I will leave to your skilled imagination!

First of all, LOSERs should not ever wear the inflatable life vests, their failure rate is conversely connected to our success rate and the odds are that, in that critical moment when you really need it, the vest will fail which will be the final, ultimate, affirmation that you are indeed a LOSER.

Official LOSER attire includes a Type IV life vest, the bulkier the better, or a pair of rubber ducky floaties. (The rubber duck floaties are a badge of honor for all those that have been whipped by girl!)

Sunglasses are a necessity, the more expensive the better, because they help give the appearance that we know what we are doing. With those really cool polarized sunglasses you can even see under the water! This helps when you are trying to get hung up in the crappie bed so that you have that momentary exhilaration of feeling like you’ve caught a fish!

You know what I’m talking about. That moment when the rod tip dips and you pull back sharply with an exclamation of joy that causes everyone around you to turn and look. The more skilled among us can move the rod tip just enough in those crucial first moments to give the appearance that we have a 3 pound crappie all hooked up before we let everyone down easy with the simple observation that you must have caught his bed! The truth is, we all know that is exactly what you intended to catch with your fancy polarized sunglasses!
