Well It's about an hour maybe just over drive for me to get there from the Dequeen area and it's a big beautiful lake, shame they don't brush it any better. I've always said these tournament groups that fish all the time need to have a set up where 2 days per year brushing is manditory and for those that wanna do more a couple more times in the slow Winter Months. Next a portion of the proceeds of each tournament need to go back into stocking. Best way I know to do that would be have somebody's big stock pond to keep stocked up and raid once per year....cheaper than buying the fish and Im sure the G&F could do it way cheaper if they would. They do some stocking though so that's good. I still think if they'd quit all the trout $ and use some of that for better tasting fish we'd all be better off.
Fella's when you have as many bad outings as I do you won't mind putting a little back into the lakes but that's just me. I should have just took the chainsaw out on Dequeen lake this Winter cause after that ice we had a lot of cedars were tore down just ready for the cutting and dumping out in the lake. I made 15 or 20 piles but wish I'd made some of them bigger and made a few more.

nimrod,
I have been gone a while. I'm still et up with fishing, but did some shifting over to the green carp. been mostly bass fishing lately, sold the aluminum boat for a bass boat, bigger ride, more leg room etc. thought it would serve me well & I would fish bigger lakes in it, but still wind up staying close to home. gas is too expensive to be burning a tank every time I want to go to big water. Just gonna give it a whirl over on Greeson with my dad & uncles next week since it's closer for everyone that lake chicot is. it's an annual family thing. I'm just hoping we can get on fish of some sort even if it's not crappie. I'm just glad someone remembers me. I even checked to see if chris (CEB) was still around on here & can't find much from him either.
Good luck on your trip. Hope you catch a boat load!!!!

You may already know this, but just in case you don't, AGFC website has a map of the whole state and you can scan in on a closer view of just Greeson and there are about 720 of those "condos" marked. You can also get the GPS coordinates for each one. My son-in-law downloaded those available and his GPS would put you right on top of each condo cause you could see them on his graph and he catches fish.
A lot of man made brush & plenty of crappie in that lake.

Folks sure aren't a catchin them it seems though. That Degray was supposed to have plenty in it too but every week when I read the fishing report there's little change in the crappie catchin and given it's Spring of the year it should be the best times for those lakes to shine if their going to.
