Well not everyone lives on a top crappie lake I bet if you fished a lot of these crappie water around southwest arkNsas you wouldn't do any better lot of good fisherman around here that aren't catching them either no need to talk about anyone on here show some class !!!
Hey Cmj how do I make that popcorn icon![]()
I've said it before men, I'd hope we can all call ourselves men on here....If you live near good crappie waters feel fortunate. I've got family around that blue mtn lake and I've carried countless stringers of fish up off the pettie jean river with family over the years so I know they are there. My In-laws live over near Pine Creek Lake in OK so I know it has good fish numbers also but it's a drive to get there too. I've lived in this area all my life (Dequeen/Mena) area so I know all too well how these lakes perform also. We find em sometimes in the Spring but it don't last forever. Last year we did find em later up into May still pretty shallow. Most years once it gets hot that deep brush will find em usually but rarely, very rarely do you catch over say 20 or 25 between 2 guys. Course those will be all keepers, 11 or 12"+ fish using minners but jigs will catch a few too. I'd say 8-15 fish per trip is more likely. My dads not going to move I know that so we worked hard this Winter to brush the lakes around here to enjoy time with our dads, I'd rather enjoy the fishing with my dad anyways.
Now that Pine Creek over in OK is prolly about like Nimrod Lake, lots of little ones and getting somewhat bigger especially this time of the year, the spawn time. Those 18 we had other day over there made a nice mess of fish, some bigger fillets to be had. I only posted the 6 or 7 bigger ones as I had cleaning all to myself and it was getting dark quick. We prolly tossed least half that number or more back for being too little. Still wish I'd carted about 100 or 200 of those back across the state line to populate our home waters back this Winter but we never got a chance to do it and air bladders from deeper fish create a problem doing that also. Glad to see the G&F stock Dequeen with a bunch of lil ones though.
Not all lakes are created equal though know that.
Sorry guys not trying to poke fun at skeeter more to poke fun at nimrod for having a bad day, we all have bad days just bad luck seems to fallow skeeter more than most, instead of driving all the way to Oklahoma I would drive to some if the better lakes in the state

I like to catch dinks. I like to catch slabs. I don't like catching nothing, but worse than that, I don't like not getting to fish. I don't remember the last time I was skunked, but I have come within a dink and a half of being skunked a time or two.
