Don, The only reason I responded was to make everyone else feel comfortable about posting under a "pro info needed" thread.

Don't ever be afraid to look shallow in the summer. There is a lot more oxygen in the water and there will be crappie there just have to find them. Don't matter how deep the lake is.

Just Find The Bait!!!!!! Shallow or deep.

I've caught them on 2' flats with 95 degree water chasing baitfish, and I've caught them 25-30' deep on Cranks or Spider Rigging doing the same thing.

It's all about where the bait is.

I'm no pro but here on Nimrod I have seen Crappie caught fishing 18'' deep at times in over 100 degree weather. Nimrod has so much vegatation flooded every year the oxygen content can get real low. Bait and fish will find a confort zone in my opinion either deep on a drop off or shallow on the flats.

    I think I'm a pro

Rather than be just an idiot with my stupid answers, I will often pm people what I really think. This was what I pm'd on 04/30 at 2:38pm

On the local lake, I have found that the fish will hunt shad and they will be at whatever depth the shad are. As the sun gets higher, they will go to structure and hold tight to the shady side. There are some on the board who love to fish for midday crappie since they won't be roving randomly around the lake, but will be holding to structure.

Hope this helps, and I know there will be others to suggest things as well.
