I agree that sharing personal experiences could save someone else a headache. I will not take part in a "bashing", but would like to know.
I think the "bashing" part is just not what this web site is about and creates negative publicity for Slab and most of all who makes the web site great......All of us users!!
Well said Hawgdog.
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
It takes all kinds....I have fished with several guides in my life and one sticks in my mind and craw everytime I think about it....on Sam Rayburn Texas.....but then I have fished with Jerry Blake and a couple of bass guides on Ouachita.....and they went the extra 10 miles so to speak to make sure myself and crew had a great time and learned some stuff.....
Hope you get this resolved and your money back.....but I got a bad feeling.
This could get ugly fast. I guide part time and tell everybody up front if the fish are biting are not. Hope he mans up and refunds your money.

Did you even have time to wet a hook? Sounds pretty flaky to me and sounds like he was going to use the TM issue as an excuse for not being able to fish![]()
I'm in the group that doesn't want to see a public flogging but would like to know who the "guide" is just to make sure that I never make the mistake of booking him.
I agree not to publicly flog the guy but I also think everyone has the right to know about this because it sure smells fishy to me. A guide can't make the fish bite, but his efforts should never be questioned, if he puts a 110% into it, it's all he can do.

We did not wet a line. I agree creek, it could get ugly quick. If you feel the need to lock the thread feel free to do so. My reason for asking the question and wanting your responses was to make sure that I didn't have too high of expectations. I've used guides in several states and hadn't had a bad experience until this trip.
Arkansas is a unique state, in that it has enough natural resources for guides to make a living, whether guiding for crappie or waterfowl. Unfortunately, it is also laden with crooks who hold their shingle out at both. I have been scammed by both hunting guides and landowners, regarding duck leases. Eventually, word gets around, and they are all but out of business.
I can understand your hesitancy to divulge his name. At a very minimum, send him a link to this thread and make sure he has a chance to respond. If he fails to do so, set him out. One unscrupulous guide ruins the reputation of all guides.
