1. A larger fillet is more filling than a small fillet. Corrective action: eat a 2.5 to 1 ratio of 8 inch crappie fillets to a 14 inch crappie fillet.
2. A larger fillet takes longer to cook than a smaller fillet. Corrective action: cook the fillets from a 14 inch crappie 93.2 seconds longer than the fillets from a 8 inch crappie.
3. A larger fillet has more calories than a smaller fillet. Corrective action: None...when you're eating fried crappie, who's counting anyway.
4. The ideal sides for 14 inch crappie are potatoes, hushpuppies, onion rings, brown beans, slaw, and bottle caps, with nanner pudding for desert. These same sides will also work for 8 inch crappie but I would suggest eating on smaller plates to make the fillets of the 8 inch crappie look bigger however, this does not apply to the plate size of the nanner pudding.
While the above may be true, I feel that my crappie sampling data is not complete therefore, I will continue to crappie sample through out the upcoming months to increase the amount of collected data.
