Not sure if Lake Ashbaugh will be any good. It had a big fish kill last summer because of the low water. Lake Hogue can be good, but so far this year I haven't done very well. Seems like I catch one nice one every trip, and the rest little ones. Seems like the mornings have been better this year for Hogue. I went this past saturday and caught about 15. All to small except for one. Some other guys were leaving when i got there, and had 15 or so nice ones. They were leaving cause they quit biting.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Water is still a little low, and muddy(for Hogue at least). I've been fishing more in the afternoons this year. That may be the reason I'm not doing as well as i have in the past few years.

then again, the only thing true about crappie fishing is that there aint nothin written in stone...i have caught crappie in some of the strangest weather and times of the year......sorry cant keep a straight face and continue with this...just jokin...I would really consider waiting for better conditions...my 2 cents...
