Had that happen more than once. The worst was with my uncle when I was about 13. He was slamming them. I was getting frustrated and asked if I could use his pole, he proceeds to boat four in four casts. Now I think it must be the front of the boat that's the hot spot. We swap seats and same story. About that time he said get me a Pepsi out of the cooler. I stopped the retreave to reach for the cooler and bam fish on. He said I thought thats what you needed, now put the Pepsi back in the cooler.

Learned a lot that day. Where we were fishing, in Colorado, is a large brushy flat about 12' deep with the brush coming up to about 7'. I wasnt paying enough attention. The wind was drifting us and when my uncle would cast he would only retreave until the right amount of line was out to get the depth the wind did the rest.

One reason I like to fish in the pool when it is crowded. It appears the same people catch the fish every time. But, when it is my day, I will pull them out so fast it dries them off. I might make a grunting noise like it is really paining me to pull up another one. I make all of the commotion I can to make sure everybody knows that it is my day too.

In the lake everybody can catch fish in, Nimrod, I spent most of the time at Fall Camp watching others pull in fish after fish. It wasn't until I followed ABH around, that we boated any number of fish that entire weekend.

That's a myth there ain't any fish in that lake, I only caught about 10,000 last year. Sure ya gotta cull alot but there are some descent fish. This season starting slow here , hope it improves with gas prices so high. Costs me too much to travel everyday to fish.

Yes. Never had while crappie fishing yet. But last year I was bass fishing right after the spawn with a buddy of mine, we tried every trick in the book and nothing would take the bait. Seen a guy on the bank under a bridge and he was wearing some solid fish out, I got close to him and asked all the question what presintation and color. He said carolina rig a 7 in purple worm he had that tied on. So I dug through my gear got rigged up and started fishing bridges with that setup, went another three hours without a bite I packed up and went home.

I'm not one to obsess over fish, or worry too much about some guy catching them when I'm not.

But that's one reason I do carry multiple weapons in the boat. If needed, I've been known to just shoot a guy that's hot, sink his boat on the spot (for more structure, don't ya know), and take over fishing there. That way, I can chunk the offending weapon and still have one or two for the next guy in case that hole runs dry.

even if someone gives you all the details, depth, color, etc...it is still very difficult to catch another man's fish...
Save the planet, it is my favorite place to fish...
