Seen a bid on one at 420.00 and another 240.00 several in 30 to 60 dallor range.
If I bought something that I would want 100 lb test braid lol.

Hey guys, I was in Walmart yesterday and I ran across a display of small crankbaits that I had never seen before. They were at the end of the isle where all the boating supplies were, they were not with the rest of the tackle. They were good looking mini cranks for $2.36 each. I was in a hurry and not thinking clearly. I am going back and get a pile of them. I think they were something like Arkie or Arky brand, can't remember exactly. At that price I figured I get 8 0r 10 and try them out.
I will post a picture when I get them.

Our wm has them...ours are displayed right where the plastic baits start on the top row...not much of a choice in colors...guess I will break down and buy one, but my radar says dont do it...I know they are cheap, but maybe too cheap...

Almost forgot...just got in some river rockers from lindy...odd looking little crankbait...looking at it from the side and especially from the top...and a lot smaller than I thought...I got the aunt creepy 3/16 ounce, a lot greener on top than the picture...have not taken them fishing yet...they are maybe 2 inches long...and not much bulk...hmmmm, considering what I paid for the river rockers doesnt make much sense about what I said about the arkie crappie cranks...nevermind...

Strike King Bitsy Minnows catch crappie sometimes, but I catch as many brim pulling them as crappie. Haven't tried casting them though, they might do well around brush or docks, they just don't run very deep.

The Arkies from WM are cheap and most of them I've bought don't run straight and won't dive more than a couple feet. When pulling them I just add a big splitshot or small bass casting sinker 18" up and that takes them down and keeps 'em running straight. Pushing them I've got a 1-2oz sinker holding them at depth. Fish don't seem to care if they cost 1/2 what the Bandits do once they get down where they need to be.

Around here the small rattle traps catch better(and some days more) fish than lipped baits. Overstockbait has some good prices on them right now (1/4oz & 1/8 oz).

I been got twice by those loose front hooks, then I realized why they were flying around loose. Fish hardly ever take the front hook, it might stick 'em in the head or gill after they take the back hook. If they do take the front it's normally because they've inhaled the whole bait and the second set makes it that much harder to get the bait out. Decided to take all the front hooks off. I haven't noticed a difference in hookups but even if I miss a few it's still better than a trip to the sawbones.

This article isn't necessarily relevant to crappie fishing, but he does list a lot of small cranks -> MiniCranks
