This has been pounded in my head since I was a child !

"They will go up for it but they won't go down for it"

It sounds good and all but....

During the fall and winter we fish by casting a jig under a bobber a lot, usually in Conways deeper water "10ft".

I have found during Several occasions when I have to fish what seems Under the fish to catch them.
The bobber will not go down, actually comes up and lays on its side, sometimes swims away.

Fishing deep in this method has produced many many limits on a poor day for most.

I've heard the same about bass...
But they sure will pick a worm up off the bottom..
