I've been wanting to hit some Arkansas lakes for sometime now and plan to this year. I've heard Nimrod has some really big crappie that can be caught regularly. Which lake or lakes is/are the best for biggest crappie, and most. Are there any guides that are recommended? Can you spider rig down there? Thanks for anything it would be much appreciated from this ol Missouri boy.

Don't expect any out sized Crappie on Nimrod. If you want to catch large numbers it's your lake. You have to cull lots of fish most days to keep a limit 10'' and above. Look elsewhere for a wallhanger.

Lake Conway has size and numbers most all the time. Check it out in march, and April for large spawning brooder.

Not to run you out of our state but if you want wall hangers you must go to Mississippi. For nice size blacks do what Shane says. Down south of Little Rock they say there are some good lakes. (wink wink) Make plans to come to our Spring Camp. They say its planned on a lake known for it big crappie

My experience on Nimrod has been an occasional nice fish with a hole bunch of baby crappie. I hate to admit this but Billy E is right on where the big crappie are supposed to be. haha

No I know all about sippi, I plan to make a giant circle, starting in Tenn, down to Sardis, the Greneda over to Ark, then back home north to Missouri. If I catch a 3# fish in Sipp or even close I will be satisfied with catching fish anywhere in arkansas. So I may head to Bull Shoals, Nimrod, Beaver somewhere close to home. I've heard Lake Greeson is a hotspots for 2# fish?

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
