    Default Camp from my perspective.

It was a great camp and I'm thankful that I got to attend. Carol and I were fortunate to be able to arrive on Tuesday night at our rental on Harris Brake Lake. We found the cabin parking to be a challenge to back a boat trailer into. The road was narrow, the drive was short in depth but very wide, gaurded by a mailbox on one side and a row of hedge on the other. This caused the need to back the trailer in a z pattern to be able to get the trailer and vehicle off the road. We performed this duty daily and by the end of our stay, it wasn't near the problem as it seemed to be at the start.

The cabin was full of art, and the piece that amazed us most was the piece with all the faces painted in. As you looked at it, more and more faces seem to appear. As I looked at it this time, it seemed to have one more face than it did when I looked at it before.

The house also had a live tree growing inside

    And the bath tub outside.

If it were my house, I would have flip flopped the bath tub and the tree. I hope none of the neighbors went blind during our stay.

The cabin had a view which will be spectacular in the winter time.

We did find another house that was very interesting. It appears it needed a little fixing up though.

We fished Wednesday and Thursday and for us, we did well with some really nice fish, but the dark mojo arose and had it's turn as well. Thursday night, Friday morning, I was as sick as a dog which prevented us from fishing on Friday, Saturday morning was met with a water malfunction at the rental and we ended up having to clean it up, but this was just the start of our trouble. We finally made it to the lake and launched, but the motor would not go down. When I checked a pin for the shallow water drive had backed partially out and the weight of the motor had put a bend in it. This had caused the motor to hang in the shallow water position. I had two choices, either put the boat back on the trailer and pull it out, or get down in the water so I could get a visual on lining things up. I chose the latter while Carol took pictures which caused a slight altercation being in the state of mind I was in.

The fishing was tougher than it had been and we only ended up with 24, none of which would break 12.5 inches, but 22 of those would break 11 inches since we were only looking for the bigger fish on that day.

I am going to get one of those signs that you see on gravel trucks for my boat. Warning Stay back 200 feet.

We did get a couple pics of some good fishermen doing what they do.

The get togethers on Friday and Saturday nights, in my opinion, were the best parts of camp. The cooks just out did themselves and it was all good. We met lots of new people and renewed old aquaintences. I'll try to caption at least a few of the following pictures.

Me giving a crappie catching tip to Dale Earnhardt Jr. Actually this is JasonW, the Arkansas State Crappie Champion and he don't need any tips from me. But really...don't this guy look like Dale Jr.
