Not the best time of year for Hamilton. However, it has a lot of brush piles in it. You can troll around in the front of docks looking for brush piles and find quite a few. I think there are some GPS coordinates posted on the internet too but I don't know where they are for sure. I used to fish that lake a lot, just don't get out there much anymore and if I do it's not this time of year. Just way too many amateur boaters for me. If I were going to give it a shot right now I think I would start by finding brush in 12-16 FOW and vertical jigging something like a Bobby Garland Baby shad in some of the baitfish type colors. I know there are some brush piles around docks in Stokes Creek and also around the mouth of Little Mazarn Creek, and up in Williams Creek. You can start in those places. You should make a run to Nimrod at least one day though and join us at camp. It will be a lot of fun and you can't help but catch crappie in Nimrod but you have to be willing to weed through some little ones. It's closer to a 1.5 hour drive from Hot Springs, I know as I've driven it many times. You just head up Hwy 7 North out of Hot Springs veer to the left on Hwy 60 going to Plainview and follow the signs to Carter Cove.
