    Default Willow Beach Lake

Anyone here ever fish Willow Beach lake. It's an oxbow off Highway 165 as you head toward Scott. I see it on the map but can't tell if it has boat access. Any info would be much appreciated.

If you go through the park, there is a boat ramp. There may be a day use fee. I'm not sure though. All of those little oxbows around that area that I have scouted are private.

Actually, that park you are referring to ceb is on the river. Willow beach lake is actually private. willow beach is before you get into scott. it is by the pentecostal church. the lake in scott is horseshoe lake. It's the lake that Cotham's is on. There is a levy that separates horseshoe in half. one of the best ways to check that out is on the google maps website. in the top right hand corner, hit the "satellite" button. here's a link. just put in scott, arkansas, and it will give you that area.

Joe, what is named on most maps as Willow Beach lake is also known as Baucum Lake or Tull's. It is a long story but the people that live around the lake wrongly think it is theirs only. It didnt use to be this way and was a favorite haunt of mine. There are two ramps on it close together but frequently, people that just want to go catch a few fish return to find flat tires on their equipment more than likely by someone that lives on the lake. I wont go there any more.
Another lake known as Willow Beach lake is on the right as you enter Willow Beach campground which is up the road from Baucum lake. No ramps and trolling motors only here. Have heard of some good catches of Crappie here in the spring.

Little Hog - thanks for the info. This is one of the great things about this site. Without it, I'm sure my wife and I would have wasted a great deal of time wandering around the area trying to figure it out....and ended up with a flat time.

    Again, many thanks.

    Default Didn't go

No Chris, I've not tried Willow Beach Lake. From the previous posts it sounds a bit chancey at best. Didn't go at all last weekend. Came down with some kind of bug Friday afternoon and felt pretty rough Saturday. Sunday was better but after church and all, I opted to do yard work or I was going to have to rent a hay bailer. That took care of the weekend.

YOu been catching any since your trip to Lake Conway last week?

I hear you on the yard work. I went back out to Conway on tues afternoon. The little shower turned into an all afternoon shower. I kept 21 with at least60 throwbacks. I only found one good bed. I plan to get out on the river sometime soon and see if the crappie are doing anything yet. In fact, I guess that I should get off here and go do some yard work.

That one lake known has Willow Beach is a ski lake, it has a ramp in it. I always thought the lake Cotham's sits on is the end of Old River Lake. We used to have a key to that lake, crappie were always small and bunched up, great bream and catfish however.:D
