    Default Arkansas River Little Rock

I'm getting more intrigued by the Arkansas River in the Little Rock area (let's say from Palaram Creek down to the Terry lock and dam) and am convinced there's got to be some great crappie fishing. It's just so big and bit trechrous in areas that learning the river is a big learning curve...at least for me.

Anyone have any experience on the section of the river I mentioned above? Care to share your experience...what to look for, how to fish it etc.

    Many thanks.

    Joe

Jhook I'm wondering the same thing! I know I've seen big crappie come out of Cook's and the lock there from bank fishermen! Always been scared of the ole gal myself.

This will take a little bit of the scare off you guys....This Corps of Engineers website has navigation charts for the entire river. It marks underwater dikes, channel, hazardous boating areas, etc. http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/navigation/navcharts.cfm

Here is the nav. chart for the lock and dam at I-430. http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/naviga...03/S54FILL.pdf

    Upstream... http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/naviga...03/S53FILL.pdf

    Further upstream... http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/naviga...03/S52FILL.pdf

Also be sure to take a look at the legend..... http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/navigation/Legend.pdf
