    Default Having withdrawls

Boys, I ain't been fishing in over 10 days and I'm getting light headed and very irritable. Guess I'm gonna have to sneak off Sunday and catch me a few. Got me an idea about sinking some bamboo over in my secret honey hole, so I'll probably do that while I'm over there, but first and foremost, I gotta get my "thump" going. So ya'll pray that the river holds up for a couple more days so I can get in there.

Nimrod, you get Doug over there with some of his hand ties and you'll have to hide behind a tree to tie one on (his are plumb purty). The only problem is that Doug may be like me and want to stay over there all time3hrs and a little bit ain't that far.

You know I love to fish many way's, but there is nothing like feeling that Violent THUMP!!! and knowing what you did with that rod and jig caused that Violent Strike. Going up the Line n Rod to your hand. Ive been using a 10 foot Ozark Rod here in the trees of Lake Conway lately and really love the feel, the lightness and the toughness of this rod in close quarters combat. God forgive me I love it.

Nothing like that thump! I would rather catch a limit on a jig tightling than a 1000 dragging a minnow. Does'nt take the same level of skill either IMO. Shure glad to hear a spider rigger admit he loves the thump.

The only problem with single poling... that thump is addictive. And I can't seem to shake it. I wake my wife up at night after a fishing trip, cause I'll be "setting the hook" in my sleep all night. On a good day, you can almost hear the thump. Thanks ya'll, now I"m gonna have to call in sick.

I will have to disagree with you on skill level on trolling verses single pole jigging. It takes skill to work 6-8 rods 12'-16' long and not stay hung up all the time. Also most of the tourney are won by troller.

Just like everything else. It takes a different kindda skill to do one, and a different kindda skill to do the other. I'm not sure if its skill or patience though. Nothing makes you wanna cuss as bad as trying to get one pole un-hung and the other five hang up. I've tried it, didn't care much for it, but lots of folks have tried my ideas and didn't like em either... their loss.
