I'll have to agree you can catch more fish most of the time spider rigging. Heck here your mostly limited by cost of minnows if you troll . Hard to keep enough bait. I trolled in the early 70's with a rack of cane poles before I ever heard the word spiderrig. As a lad I kept a boat tied up no motor on the lake. I took a bucket of minnows, cane poles and a sculling padding . All I had to do is scull the boat up wind and float across stump rows till my stringer was full and minnows were gone. Guess that is the Bass fisherman coming out in me . I know most Crappie fishing is a different mind set and set of methods. I jig fish and average 50 to 100 fish. When water levels normal, 2 of us average 100 to 200 on good days. If I spiderrigged 8 poles now I would have to hire help, one to bait hooks and one unhook fish.
I used to yoyo fish back in the day too. Just think if too many spiderrig with minnows it could hurt some lakes. Your welcome to come over and fish a couple days. I 'll troll with you one day if you'll jig fish the next day with me.![]()
