Default Getting frustrated at the crappie

Hey guys, i'm new to the board and have a question. I'm been fishing a couple of times over the last week or so and i've been going after work so that puts me on the water around 4:00. My problem is that i get right over schools of fish "according to the fish finder" and the little punks wont bite...I've been using minnows and jigs changed colors up and they just don't seem interested....I'm just curious why they aren't biting....It has been around 85 degrees when i get on the water if that has anything to do with it....I see all of these people limiting out every day and i'm lucky if i catch 5....Any suggestions would be helpful...I've been fishing on lake poinsett if anyone is wondering.

Welcome, first mistake is believing what you see are crappie. Fish finders can show you a lot and I learn a lot every time I use mine. What they don't do is distinguish between crappie and schools of shad. I can tell bigger fish such as stripers but that's it. I can see large schools of fish and most of the time the balls are schools of shad. Hope this tip helps ya.

    What Arkansasbowhunter sez.
I have never caught a lot of fish over what I thought was stacked crappie. Depth finders are good for finding where they are supposed to be. Not where they are at.
