    Default I Suck !!!!!

I have been fishing Conway for about 2yrs now. I never do any good. I have fished for both Crappie and Bass. Does anybody have some time to take me out and show me what I'm doing wrong. I would be willing to provide boat , lunch and a case of beer. Or reccomend another lake close to little rock. I'm a catch and release fisherman, so you dont have to worry about me taking your fish.

    Thanks

There are a few on here that do well on Conway between here and Fall. I ain't one of them. Conway can be very frustrating.
I would check out Creekslick on Greer's Ferry, (he guides some), Nimrod ain't very far from LR. A couple of hours drive will get you to Dardenelle. I don't know anything about it except some of our best sez that is where to go. I hope Mrs DP and I can check it out this weekend.
    Good Luck!!

Hiring a guide one time will pay for itself in no time flat! Let the pros teach you a few pointers on the local lakes and you can use this experience forever and make your trips productive. A good guide will spend as much time teaching you as he will catching fish with you. Holler at me if you need some references on some of the best in the business!

Conway has always kicked my tail on crappie. The blue gills and shellcrackers are a different story. I'm planning this summer to pull bandit 300s from the 89 bridge all the way to crappie pro's house. I wonder if I'll do any good?

The previous posters have given good advice, but I just wanted to let you know that you're not the lone ranger on not catching crappie in Conway.

    Good Luck

Don't feel bad HC. I'm no pro, but have caught one or two fish in my day. I've tried Conway a few times in the May - August period and have been the engineer of the suck train each time. I know the pro's on here are whackn em on Dardanelle, but my advice is to go east right now... No fancy electronics or multi poles needed.

Howards Coward, you dont suck. After the main spawn Conway can be tough this time of year, the fish get scattered and are very picky right down to jig head, color, size,, tipped with a minnow or nibble or not. Sometimes it's a grind to scratch out a few or work all day to findem or catch a limit. I have not fished Conway in two weeks and it's right at my door step. The reason is simple the Big "D" and i dont mean Dallas just west of here is the best Crappie Lake in the state right now...I can ussually catch a few on Conway anytime of year but if it's real fun you want then the Big D is where you need to go. RCC You wont make it a 1/4 mile to my house from 89 bridge before you run out of Bandit's. You have'nt lived until you pull Bandits on Lake Conway on a Windy Day or any day for that matter.HAHA!!!

I live about ten miles from that lake and im lucky to catch my limit during the spawn much less the rest of the year, so your not the only one. I hope one of these days i will have spent enough time on it to catch fish. Good luck to ya!
