Would like to hear some first hand knowledge of it. How much do they cost, etc.... Thanks in advance for any info.

I just replaced one on a 25 hp Merc for @$175.00 off ebay. Nothing to the replacement if you can work a screwdriver. But, come to find out, mine was OK. It turned out to be a magnet under the flywheel had come unglued and was keeping it from running on one cylinder.

Ha! I done the exact same thing, only I replaced the power pack and the stator twice before I found the loose magnet under the flywheel. That was an expensive lesson.
