Hey guys.. im new here and to fishing the NEA Area. Im wanting to take my 5 year old son out and hopefully let him catch some fish. I fished the lake last week with not much luck but i hear good things about it and it is close to my home in Jonesboro. Any advise about the lake would be great. Where to fish and what to use...I want him to have a good outing!! Thanks guys.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.
Yeah i know its probably not the best but im looking for something close to jonesboro that i can take my kiddo for quick morning trips so thats why i was just wanting to know more about the lake. Thanks
Lake Hogue in Waldenburg is pretty good. There is a channel that runs in the middle that you got to find to have a real good day
Lake Hogue x2. Get you about 200 crickets and that kids hooked for life. Watch the wind though. Be rough out there this mornin.
yeah dblevens your right they are a bunch of bream out there. I was talking about crappie, but bluegills are large and in charge there sometimes. seems like the wind is always rough out there
No wind means no fish on hogue. Need a ripple.

Caught a few this morning on poinsett. Kid had a good time. Thinking about trying again tomorrow. I have never been on hogue so I know nothing about that lake.
Good job, especially in this wind.
