I think you may be right gooch, I give semester tests next week, and then I am going to do some adventuring afterwards. I can always remember the days as a youth fishing with grandfather on Ouachita. I left the second day out of school and did not return til two weeks before school started. I don't think that Mom realized how little time it took to find supplies for school, muchless the clothes for the next year. Two weeks that were a waste for me. But during the summer it was an adventure every day. We got up at 5am went down to the dock rode out to the breakers. We fished to 8 or 9 or until they stopped breaking. Then we would check the trotline. I always waited with anticipation for whatever beast of the deep would show its prehistoric figure on the line, sometimes my anticipation would be appeased other times not, but I alwasy had a great time. Back to the dock, clean fish, eat breakfast or lunch, then back out to catch brim for the trot line. My kids think that I am insane when I say I had only one soda all day. The rest of the time it was just water. The old man was a cheap skate, not to mention it was a generic soda that tasted like setzer water. He was not much better to himself he had water or Black Label, but at least he had more than one in a day. After baiting the trotline it was back to looking for breakers then call it a day. 5AM the whole process started over again. I have to say that if I had just one day left and knew that one day, I would spend it just like that except with one of my daughters or maybe one day my grandkids. I think I won't be as cheap. I'll let them have two sodas and I'll have some Beast. If I had another lake to try I have always been curious about Nimrod. I have hear from the time I was a child that there is great crappie fishing there. I just have never been.
