I fish Millwood and Red River in the SW corner of Arkansas. But Caddo Lake and Lake Fork in Texas have always been on my "want to try" list.
They are both within range of my home but I've never taken the time to fish them.![]()

I know many of you have a special place to fish in the state that is close to your home or where you grew up, but what I would like to know is if your favorite place was closed or even your area of the state where would you go? I am thinking more along the lines of maybe the dream lake, or the place you always heard of but never went to in the state. What is the lake that if offered would bring you from your favorite haunt? Lets try to limit it to Arkansas.

Man Jake your just counting the days till you get out for summer break arent you? Sounds like your doing a little day dreaming at work thinking up a fishing trip Ha.
Mine would have to be Nimrod and the lower Arkansas and White rivers.
Gooch , Nimrod is not far from the rock, what are you waiting on ?:D I guess my dream spots are any lakes I've never fished. But that don't leave much of Arkansas, as I've fished so many places!Would like to catch some Big Stripers or Walleyes though. I've caught my share of most everything else.
Maybe we need a fishing trip swap meet thread on here !

when i was a kid my dad and i would always go fishing to a small oxbow off the arkansas river called taylor old river and slide our boat down the dirt ramp there. years ago a hunting club posted it and only allowed members access to it, even though it is still connected to the river and just off the levee. if i could pick any place to go fishing right now, it would be there.
If you can access by boat can they keep you out ?Originally Posted by HawgPharm

well, there is a levee at the end of the lake with a pipe in it that you could possibly get through in a small flatbottom boat from the river IF you catch the river level just right and are not claustrophobic.Originally Posted by NIMROD
I'm with you Nimrod. I've always wanted to learn the walleye thing. I have a friend who moved down from Minnesota a few years ago and they are absolutely tearing up the Walleye near Devils Fork on Greers Ferry. I asked him how he does it and he said all we do is bounce night crawlers on jig heads off the bottom and throw deep diving crank baits on the flats about 20-25 ft down just after dark. :D I cant wait till he shows me the ropes. I'll keep you posted.
Some locals from here just recently went to Greers Ferry to fish. They hired a guide to catch Walleye and still zeroed out on them ! Might could try a fishing trip swap or something ?:DOriginally Posted by Panfish
