Thread: Lost my long time fishing partner

At 12:00 noon Thur. my wife and I were getting ready to pull out for Crappie Camp, when I got the call that my brother passed away. He'd been fighting lung cancer for a year and a half. He was my long time fishing partner and friend and brother. I'm going to miss him very much. He loved fishing more than anyone and we had lots of good times on the water. I'm sure there are several members who have seen him with me on the south Ark. waters especially Cane Creek and Connerly bayou. He caught his biggest crappie on 12/3/2008 on Cane Creek and I caught my biggest crappie the next day in the same spot. We took them to the taxidermist together the next day. I will always remember those times when I look at my mount. They both weighed 3lb 5oz. I'm glad everyone had a good time at crappie camp and wish I could have made it, but maybe next time. Everyone enjoy your time fishing with your loved ones because you never no how long it will last. I will post some pics of my brother,Rufus Lawson, if I can remember how.
