The water temp is nothing more than an incubator for the eggs. If the eggs hatched out now and we got a bad cold front and the water temp dropped to 55, most of the eggs/fry would die. Watch the eggs. When they lose that bright yellow look and the blood vessels burst turning the sack orange and the eggs look like mush, IT'S ON!!! Nature won't let those fish spawn too early.
