Howdy everyone, ive been peeking for quite some time now and now that Duck season is over im trying to get on some fish. Fished 2 small reservoirs close to me and really struggled this weekend. ive researched on here and the web as much as i can and am really confused still. So a few questions that maybe yall can help with. i am more comfortable with Pole fishing than spider rigging.

In the current time mid feb, water was pretty clear, can see maybe 3-4 feet. i tried using minnows under bobber fished 4-6 feet deep nothing, body of water is 7 - 8 feet deep. i tried jigs, same method multiple colors no success. did i fail becuase of the clear water, or is the bobber teqnique for later in spring when in shallows only?

So thinking back i should have been casting jigs i am thinking. ive read alot about the fall of the jig and try different wieghts to effect rate of fall. But my question is, do you cast out jigs, let them sink and then try to jig them? seems to me theyd be on the bottom or the retrieve would get it out of the area. or should i have just cast spin jigs at them? i want to learn to use jigs only but am lost! on you tube i watched dray, looked like he was casting jigs, no bobber and just letting them fall, is that all there is to it, and then just cat again and let it fall, or do you jig it. just trying to get a bite.

I also tried jigging straight down around cypresses and that didnt work either. HELP PLEASE!

was around England if anyone is super familar with area.
