HAHA!!! DP Those Dardanelle guys look at me kinda funny when i say minnows. A good fishing buddy Don Blakely and myself have been using minnows on double minner rigs and tipping jigs with them. I am trying to be more flexiable on the water nowadays and let the fish tell me what they want on any given day.

Never really done the spider rigging thing I guess but I normally always tie 2 jigs on at once about 2 sometimes 3' difference and here lately no i've not been using any added weight since by the time you upscale your jigs size to at least 1/8 on both jigs you have enough weight already to reach deeper water. If i'm bass fishing I really like to stay in contact with the bottom though since they are not considered a cold water fish like crappie are. If i'm using the heavy weight at the bottom of a rig I like to only use 1/2OZ or less, really a 1/4 OZ bell weight works for me about 18" up from my bait. Some people may want to use bigger weight but I only fish 6LB line most of the time cause I like the feel of light line better. True you can pull up the bottom with heavy line but you lose feel also.
