    Default patching a boat


    Anybody got any good ideas to patch an aluminum boat? Had a small hole that wore around one of the welds. Tried to patch it with the JB Weld stuff made for marine applications, apparently didn't work. What should I try next?

    If JB Weld didn't do it, I'd be looking for a good heliarc man..that JB is some good stuff.

    terastat and a piece of aluminum then blind rivet it never leak again!!!!

    It doesn't have to be Gas Tungsten Arc Welded (aka. TIG, or Heliarc). It can be Gas Metal Arc Welded (aka. MIG, or Wire welding), if they have the spool gun attachment. I think some of the suitcase GMAW welders will allow you to weld Aluminum too. Quick and easy to fix....if you have access to the equipment.

    Call a welder and get er done right. JB weld just makes a mess.

    Props plus did some welding for me before they moved. They did a good job on my stuff.

    Props Plus opened back up in Brookland on hwy 49 right beside Brooks Golf Carts(just south of Pine Log road and north of elementary school). They did some welding for me and it was cheap compared to try and fix it myself and then worrying if it was gonna leak again.
    I think Gladish marine is still open in Paragould I think, but props plus has done me right in past.
