Finally had a chance to mount my custom rod holder from Terry at Cumberland Crappie today. Thing fits great! This was a new design for Terry as he made it adjustable up and down. He does some great stuff. If you haven't seen his stuff, check out his site and give him a shout. He's a great guy and will make anything for ya! Now if I can get my 4 - 4 Rod Holders installed...... The only problem I do have is the boat should be in the water, not in my yard!
The built in cooler and existing rod storage still open fully!
Adjustable Height. They will go up another 2 inches or so.
Best part is, unscrew the easy knobs from the baseplates and carry your rods in the garage! The thing is extremely durable, but lightweight enough to carry 16 rods loaded. Also great when I go Bass, Hybrid Striper, and Striper fishing, I still have all my room. Just leave the crappie rods at the house and those baseplates are the same that the rod holders use. Great when trolling Striper.
Whatcha think?

Yea, I bought the net/umbrella holder too. Just finished it LOL. The wife will be happy for sure. Now if I can get Terry to make me some kind of lock box and drink holder for the base when I don't need the umbrella holder, it will be on! I love the way all his base plates fit everything he makes. Now time to mount the rod holders.

Looks good but way more rod holders than I would ever need. I just need a good 4 rod holder up front and maybe a 4 rod holder mounted somewhere in the back for my partner to use. My boat has 2 holes where the bicycle seat can go on the front deck so maybe use one of them for a holder. I always put the seat in the 2nd hole where I'll have more deck space in front of the seat so a rod holder in that front slot should work well.
I see what your saying, but I drift/troll alot. Especially in the winter and summer. The 4 rod holders I have that hold 4 each will be on the front and back extreme corners. (Didn't get them done today) if your in a drift, typically 1 side is way better than the other. No Motor = no spook (or minimal). If im trolling for stripers/hybrid at 2+ mph, i need 8 off the back. Hell by the time im done, the base plates all over my boat will look like a Lego/Lincoln Log/Connectix toy set! Can move anything anywhere.
As far as the seats bases go, with 3 in front I can bass fish solo, or run 8 rods, or sit sided by side with the wife or buddy. Not a good option for rod holder at all with this setup.
