Well going from fishing Lake Conway and Nimrod to fishing Galveston Bay and Lake Livingston has been like going back to the first grade. We moved from Little Rock to Houston 6 months ago, This weekend I feel like I graduated to the second grade. Saturday Cylinda and I went to Livingston and fished all weekend. Caught a baker’s dozen yesterday morning and only two that evening. This morning caught ten more by nine thirty. The lake has a 10 inch slot so I guess I caught just as many I had to throw back. Most of the keepers were 11 to 12 inches with a few that were almost 14 inches. Found out the monsters will move in the creek next month that are 15/16 inches. I will be going back.
Last week the water was calm in the Gulf so I took my little 16 foot boat out to the end of the south jetty in Galveston. It extends out about a mile long into the Gulf. Everyone in their big 40 foot fishing rigs had quite a laugh when I pulled up in my little boat and asked if they knew which way is it to Key West.
We caught eight or nine sheephead that were between four and five pounds. Now I gotta say, that was fun. I have a few pic from both trips attached.
Hope to be home soon.
