Only fish worse than Trout are Grinnel (aka Bowfin, Cypress Trout) for eating. Them Trout rot about as fast as Shad, probably make good Catfish bait. lol lol
We always said to cook Trout a fresh pile of cow dung wrapped over Trout tossed in a bed of coals till done. Remove the dung , toss Trout in fire , eat baked cow dung.

X 2 on eatin' trout. I love to catch them, but haven't found a way yet to cook them that makes me like to eat'em! Been catchin' and releasin' for years now, unless somebody wants me to bring them some.
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!

the next time you catch a drum cut open the top of head between eyes there will be a white rock in there with a un even number on it !!! i have a whole set . 1-3-5-7-9 most of the rocks are about the size of a nickle a lot depends on size of fish.
