That's exactly right in this case J.W. We typically troll at .5 to .7 mph but yesterday we found that they wanted it a lot faster and we didn't have to use any extra weight to keep the jig down because they were biting it shallow. We were letting out about 12 ft of line in 7.5 FOW at 1.4 mph and that was putting the line at a 20-25 degree angle to the water. I didn't figure out the depth the jigs were running because the fish were hitting them and that's all that mattered. Today was totally different. They wouldn't touch the jigs running the way we did yesterday. Today I finally put two oz of lead 18 inches above 1/8 oz roadrunners and trolled fast with 10-12 ft of line out. That front coming in last night really put the bite off this morning and we left at 12:20 with only 20 fish. I will add that David was not fishing today and that reminded me of what a huge difference it makes to have him in the boat. My youngest son was fishing with me today along with his 3 and 5 yr old boys (who were into something constantly today!). My youngest son just doesn't fish, period. It ain't his passion and he may go once a year. In fact we had to buy a license for him today because his had expired over a year ago! He worked real hard at fishing today and I was proud he went and put out the effort but of the 20 fish kept today he only had 4 to his credit. Out of the 75 we kept yesterday David had the majority and even caught some of them on my rods when I wasn't paying attention! You were missed today Blue Thunder and iffen you had been there I think we would have peppered 'em pretty good! It was still a great day and I was very blessed to have my other son and grandboys with me. I think both Atticus and Hunter and going to be hardcore fishermen when they get a little older!

Sorry didn't get to get down there today but after 17 hour drive back home the last two days I was just wore out and slept in this morning.

Good report and still a decent catch. Those pictures are precious. You should make a few hard copies as those boys will grow up fast. Great trip with some awesome quality time on the water with family. Congrats.

Is that Kate Adams Lake? Looks kind of like the parking area there.
