I caught lots of fish jiggin, quit after culling a limit by 10.00 am. They were deep hitting purple/ chartruse and pink/white umbrella tubes on a 1/8 oz leadheads as usual. Man it was hot! Caught several limits of fish Slabbandit has been keeping. The better fish are out there.Thumbs Up

Nimrod what size do you consider a keeper, for me it is 10" and above? Just wondering. I have been catching a lot of 9 1/2" fish that are probably for the 2008 spawn when the water was so high.

I perfer to keep 10'' and above , but if it's slow I may keep a few a little smaller to finish a limit. Too many folks here keeping 7 and 8'' Crappie. Some must keep everything that bites!

You didn't ask me, but I'll chim in. We keep anything 9" or larger on most lakes. Some of our conservation lakes have fat crappie so keeping 7.5-8" crappie still clean up for a nice mess.

Nice catch Nimrod, I perfer to eat 9-12 inch fish in my opinion they are the best table fair. I have never had a problem putting a mess of fish together on Nimrod in the summer the few times I have fished it. Just wish the bigger fish had a lil more meat on there sides in the summer.

A 10 inch crappie makes the perfect size fillet for frying. I have never liked cutting my fillets into small pieces.

Lake Charles up in Lawrence co. is completely over-run with dinks. Not seen such over population since Lake Poinsett back in the '80s. Wished the agfc would atleast lift the limit on them and let folks carry them home by the 100's.
