    Default West Arkansas - Fort Smith

    Anyone here from Fort Smith? I've just recently bought a boat and am just a beginner as far as crappie fishing goes. Here's what I've found so far;

    Lee Creek reservoir — tough fishin' as far as I can tell, though it looks good and gets a fair amount of traffic.
    Lee Creek below the dam — here you can do some good, haven't caught crappie yet but doing well with bass and you can ALWAYS catch catfish!
    Blue Mountain Lake - my favorite spot for the beautiful scenery and have caught some nice bass.
    Hope to explore Clear Creek off the Arkansas River soon.
    Lake Fort Smith also nearby.

    Welcome to the forum from Fort Smith as well! I'm pretty much in your shoes. I am a beginner crappie fisherman but have bass fished all my life. Lee Creek Reservoir is where I go the most and know it pretty well. Some days I'll go and wear them out and others I won't catch a fish. It does get a lot of traffic like you said. Below the dam, I have only bass fished and don't know the crappie spots really. Blue Mountain has been one of our better crappie lakes for a long time. Lake Fort Smith just recently got expanded and is a really pretty lake. There is lots of timber on the SE side of the lake that holds some fish. Keep us updated with your progress. Always good to know another local is out there grinding it out as well! Good luck to ya!
