    Default The Dead Sea

Despite the 104 temp yesterday afternoon, we gave Lake Maumelle a try yesterday. Fished about two hours on several different spots with artificial habitat using jigs and they were SLOW. Ended up catching three black crappie that way. We could see fish on the depth finder, they were just not very cooperative.

So, we decided to try the west end of the lake trolling crankbaits. It was on. I took home two saugeye, one about 16" and the other around 19". Also caught five white crappie this way from 10-12", and caught and threw back about 40+ white bass between the three of us. Had a blast!
