it probably will be before the day is out. and where did you move to up there on the lake? i fished it when it was new and still think it's one of the prettiest lakes around. don ray owned the narrows boat dock then and i think there were over 60 guides out of his dock during the "hot" period of that lake. i got my first red garcia 5000 at his dock. that lower part can and does get very much like the ocean if the wind gets bad enough. i fished out of shilo marina and fished the lower part most of the time. one time i had just made it back to the dock and the owner said he was fixing to send the rescue boat out looking for me. another man came in and said the waves were almost 8 ft high but i think he was stretching it a foot anyway. back then i was fishing out of a 14 ft al jon boat with a 30 inch bottom. caught a lot of good bass there and the white bass schooling was something else to see back then. then i got my first bass boat and ventured up into the upper part of the lake some. all the guides or the biggest part had kenzie craft boat with tiller motors on them. larry nixon was either 14 or 15 years old and he and his dad guided out of the narrows dock and were two of the top guides back then along with probably the best glen cossey. larry was guiding at night during the summer which amazed me at that age. the people that own the dock now came from close to where i lived in the bootheel. they lived south of there a few miles. how's that for hi-jacking?
