yes, i knew what happened to glen. i was lucky and got to fish (free) with him a couple of times at night. jay and amy donathan were helping don run the dock some and i got aquainted with jay. when he found out my last name he asked if i had a brother that taught dentistry at ut at memphis. i told him i did and he said he liked one quarter finishing dentistry school there and took some time off and came to greers and never went back to school. he asked if i'd like to go out some night with glen. and one night while by myself (back then most boats would turn their lights off when fishing) i was running across the lake out from eden isle and happened to see a real small styrofoam chunk laying in the water. i wasn't paying any attention to my depth finder at the time. i turned around and picked up the chunk and it had a string and weight on it. i looked at the depth finder and i was on top of a sunken island i never knew was there. i turned off my lights and motor and about that time over a quater away a boat turned it's lights on and was heading in the direction of the narrows. i knew then who that marker belonged too. i proceeded to fish a while and caught some bass. the next day i went down to the dock and found glen and handed him his marker. he said, "was that you? don't ever fish that place till after midnight and don't tell anyone else about it." back then topo maps weren't heard of or not that i knew at that time. glen was a dandy. a lot of the guides left greers and went to toledo bend which was a hot lake then and or to sam rayburn. jay and amy went to sam rayburn and i fish it a couple of times. i got a christmas card from jay and amy for years then they stopped. i found out later that he had passed away. yes, a walk down memory lane. by the way that sunken island is off the point of that island out of water off eden isle if you live close and fish the lake at night for bass. i'm sure it still holds bass.
