Might have to pull out some line and cut of so you have enough tension on spring to set hook. also can take water pipe insulation and put a couple of 6in pices to increase flotation. they will float around just like jug fishing. What I like about this rig is if you are fishing where you have short stickups you just set it down over stickup and they can,t run away with it. caught lots of fish and lots fun. I would caution you to check regs locally because I would think they would be treated same as jugs.
Checking the Regs is a great idea. Jugs and Noddles fall within a different law as YO-Yo's.
YO-YO's must be in sight all of the time---Jugs and noddles or limbs can be used at night and left unattended
Game Warden told me if you leave yo-yo's out at night you had better get to them the next morning before he gets to the location and find them not attended. Some guys stay with them all night as required by law.

A guy last year used yo-yo's and had them set to where the fish were pulled out of the water and it took him a long time to run them and most of the crappie he pulled out of the water died before he removed them
