    Anybody fished lake Atkins lately?

    I have heard they are doing pretty well down there.

    May try it Saturday if it doesn;t rain

    So happens I just spoke to a man I know in Wal-marts today and he has been fishing Atkins and catching several crappie but like a few others I talked to, he said they don't have a lot of size to them. I haven't been catching big numbers on Dardanelle lately, but the size of them is super. Except for one real bad day, I have been bringing home 8 or 10 weighing from 1 1/2 lb to 2 1/2 lbs. and several throw backs.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

    8-10 weighing from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 sounds like a great day compared to what I have been doing lately.

    Actually, I wish I had posted it as 8-10 with most being 14-151/2 inchers with one at 17 inches. I don't have a scale that is anywhere accurate but my ruler is right on.
    The last 3 days that I fished I only had 5 that was barely deserving of the filet knife and I turned them back. Even a blind sow will find an acorn occasionally.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.
