You got me to thinking, so I looked at my profile. My two year crappie.com anniversary will be next week.

I went from not having a clue how to catch crappie, to now where I can catch them fairly consistantly. All due to this site....and Jerry Blake...whom I met because of this site.

Congrats on your 4th year hear DP from one of the new crop of newbies. And thanks for the welcome. Been comin here readin posts since last Febuarary and finally joined in May after the Drs. give me the long face and made me retire.
I have crappie fished since I cant remember, but just in the spring and fall. Now that i will have more time I'm lookin to learn new ways for catchin em year round(cept deer and duck season) and this sure seems the place to do it. Just got set up to spider rig, now lookin to set up to pull crank baits.
One thing bout this place, it sure can get ya to spend some money. Already wantin a new boat (got 2 already), one of them I Pilot TM, more rod holders, more rods, line counter reels, couple a hundred Bandits, new FF, etc., Its ok by me but the wifey aint real happy, she'll get over it.
Lots of good, knowledgable and entertainin folks on this site and I feel this place will become a important part of my life in the future.

Well said DP, I Love the fall too, it's the most wonderful time of the year for me. A cool fall morning with a light fog just above the surface of the water, and then the feel of a solid THUMP. (An addicting feeling that lets you know your alive and a fisherman.)

I have trying a different approach. Since our president extended un-employment benefits, I have been trying to get fired. They won't do it. I might try driving a forklift into the river or something. I could handel 2 years of benefits and fishing.

Well said DP. I have been a member for 1 year and a few months. I have improved my catch tremendously. I sure enjoyed the Crappie Camp on Greeson in 2009, though I did not catch anything. I was at Daisy State Park for a Church gathering yesterday and saw where someone painted a high-water mark at where the water level across the road at the boat launch ramp had been that read May 19th, 2009.
The couple of times with Darryll Morris, building and placing cover and fishing have proven invaluable lessons.
Just to get to meet folks like you and discuss technique, baits and look at boat set- ups, poles. By the way my tracker now has the two fishfinders so I can see them at the same time from my bow seat and I have Driftmaster rod holders all around.
