It is a sister lake to Nimrod sorta speak. Here Crappie tend to suspend in hot weather. I always thoght they were chasing Shad. The biologist claim I was told they are feeding on Plankton type stuff , filtering it out of the water.
The spiderriggers/ trollers do better in the heat of summer. The fish seem to relate less to structure. I have caught them in midday heat out on the flats at the bottom of brushpiles in the past. Guess they liked the shade . Most of the time we concintrate on Catfish. Usually late Sept when weather breaks start looking in shallow brushpiles just like early spring.
