    Default Nimrod drawdown

Its not a good idea to run fast on nimrod now, I was there this AM and it sure is treacherous. My friend witnessed a bass boat wipeout his Lower unit while running up the river. I never have seen so many stumps as now and it still has 2 more feet to drop. However I did see a couple catching some real good slabs. Forget launching at any of the regular ramps after today.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

You say you Aint never seen so many stump, THen you aint never been to Lake Conway I assume. I think there is a stump for every one person in Arkansas. Lake Barnett is also Real stumpy. On Conway, for every stump you can see, there is Ten more that you cant see.
You can't beat the taste of them ole fried SLABS N TATERS!!

I'm sure he mean't on Nimrod. This drawdown when complete is still 5' short of the others in the past. I bumped a couple stumps trying to get into the river.
Where did you launch today? What type of boat were you in ? I did OK fishing for Catfish. The water is so hot it feels like dishwater. My temp gauge was showing in the 90's on the transducer about 18'' under! Saw a few locals catching lots of small Crappie trolling minnows. One had a limit and 1/2 were descent fish. Said he went through a lb of minnows! Another older local couple said they kept about a dozen.

Hey Nimrod, After the drawdown is complete, will there be anywhere you can launch? What about now and then? Many thanks.
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!

Checked this afternoon and the new ramp at Anderson Branch, that were constructed for drawdowns, is just now starting to be used. Can possibly still use the regular ramps at Anderson Branch also.
Lake will be drawn down one and a half more feet over the next four weeks I've been told.
Will be held down until October I believe.
I'll try to post a few pics this weekend.

WARNING ! DO NOT USE THE REGULAR RAMP AT ANDERSON BRANCH! BOAT TRAILERS DROPPING OFF THE END AND DAMAGING THEM AS THEY HANG UP! Use the under water ramp past the handicapped pier.

I took a couple of older friends and one's grandson Saturday morning. In a little over 3 hours we landed over 50 and brought in 39 Catfish. We were using liver and Catalpa Worms over soured grain baited holes. Now is prime Catfishing time as the Channels are close to spawning and it will just get better afterwards.
The Crappie Trollers (spider riggers) been catching Crappie east of the launch . There is a channel running off the river there on the sourh bank that we call the Gardner hole. It is full of tops . The main river down that way should be good.
If you go procceed slow and easy , lots of stumps and shallow areas! Not to mention with the water down boats crowded in places.

On Nimrod IS what I meant. I was in my 16' Alumacraft with a 40 yammie. The day I sent my message I launched on Andersons new ramps and i watched the trailor start to fall off the end, so I stopped and pushed my boat off the trailor.
