What color have you had best luck with?

Tommy, These are the colors that I prefer and have the most luck on, they match the color of shad perfectly, they cover the whole spectrum of water clarity, from clear to stained water. Its most critical to experiment with the retrieve, because you put the life in the bait, by how you work the rod.

No problem, hope it brings as many big fish to your boat and dinner table as it has mine. It was one of the few experiments that I have had that was productive, and I thought to myself why not share with every one here at Crappie.com, this tactic.

Can you put up a picture of how you rig it. We use flukes on the smallmouth but just put it on a worm hook and fish it like a jerk bait on top of the water.

Here is a good illustration, I just use a 1/2 ounce bell sinker with swivel formed in the lead, and I use a 1/8th ounce lead head tied to a loop, not cinched down like they show it. I like my Bait to be 16" to 18" from my weight.
