I realize every lake is different, but for those of you who care...

The lake I'm fishing isn't that deep. 20 foot holes around the creek channels are the deepest that it gets. The water is stained and it has a large amount of trees. It's actually incredibly similar to Lake Conway.

I caught a reasonable number of crappie this weekend. Half were blacks and half whites. The only time I catch blacks on this lake is when the spawn is about to occur because the blacks congregate up in the coves.

Early last week I was catching most of my fish in 10-15 ft of water and the past few days I caught the most fish in 5-8 feet of water. The fish are moving up in the coves, and although they aren't up in the shallows yet or all the way up in the cove, they are headed that way.

I also saw some enlarged blood vessels in a few of the females and the sacks were starting to turn orange away from the yellow.

Also, one male I caught had a ripped up tale, due to fanning a bed somewhere.

Once it gets warm this week it should be on. I think the cold is the only thing that has kept the fish from spawning as of right now. The next week or two should be money.
