I have kept a hunting/fishing log for over 40 years. Date, "Where & with "who", "weather conditions" and "what thing", and "how". I have 7, 3 inch ring binders filled. Sometimes I sketch in a map of the event - hot spots. Its interesting to note how patterns form yearly for fishing and up & down year cycles - where to be when for the best fish bite. I have salt & fresh water fished in many places, Alaska, NWT, C, Costa Rica, most of the states and hunted in these area's also. Its fun reading, now that I am a senior, and no longer hunt, but still fish - limited.
i bet when reading over even the old old times you remember them well. wish i'd had the foresight to have done the same thing.

I've never kept one for fishing but have kept one for duck hunting for years and there's times it really pays off....your right old if nothing else it's worth it for the memories
castan, i didn't keep one for duck hunting either but i can remember a lot of the good days even way way back when i first started around age 14 when we used live decoys. yes, live decoys. it was outlaw city where i hunted back then. it wasn't limits. it was toe sacks full. and i had it to do over i wouldn't change a thing. why is it that memories like that are very vivid and i can't remember yesterday hardly?

old...I'm jealous....always wanted to hunt over some English callers...love the old pics of hunters poling out with there callers in a line following them...must have been something watching some real pro callers working
castan, they ain't perfect. i've seen'em work real good and i've seen a big flight of ducks bunch after bunch tree top high not pay a bit of attention to the ducks.
